How Do You Eat Granola?
We, here at Brushy Mountain Granola Company, have recently been asked a lot of questions about how to eat granola…the first time I was asked the question, I have to admit, I responded, “I don’t understand the question”…the quick response was “Do you just eat it out of the bag?” This, unfortunately for the asker, turned into an ode to granola and probably sounded a little like the children’s book, Dr. Seuss’ Green Eggs and Ham. You can eat it from a bag, you can eat it from a bowl, you can eat it from a shaker cup, you can eat it on the go!
But really folks, our granola is so versatile it’s hard not to be excited about all the ways to eat it! This will be the first of several blogs about how to eat our granola and, oddly enough, what pairs well with each granola flavor.
I’ll start by saying our granolas are great just out of the bag- it’s an easy snack that shouldn’t be saved just for breakfast. The texture is nice and crunchy, and with 9 flavors, we have something for everyone. However, I will admit, one of my favorite ways to eat Expedition is like a cereal with either 2% milk or almond milk. It’s tasty and filling and, oh, the milk! What can I say about the milk! Remember when you were a kid and on Saturday morning you grabbed a bowl of your favorite cereal to begin your day with cartoons and saved that sweet, yummy milk at the bottom of the bowl to savor at the end? Well, Expedition granola milk is way better! If we could figure out how to bottle the stuff, we could take the beverage industry by storm.
Another one of our favorite snacks is sliced apples with peanut butter and granola on top. It’s a perfect after school snack, before exercise, or for tackling a bad case of the ‘hangries’ any time of the day! Our friends at Waypoint Outfitters posted a great recipe for “Pre-trail Apple Nachos” with 2 nut butters, apples and our PB & Stuff granola blend. Check it out here {insert Instagram Link}! But don’t stop at apples, try it on bananas as well, I mean, what’s better than peanut butter and bananas?
I could go on and on… and will in my next blog post! I would love to hear about how you enjoy your favorite flavors of Brushy Mountain Granola- after all, it says it right on the bag…”How do you granola?”
